At 10:43pm last night, police responded to the dock at the Hartshorn Marina in the 900 block of West Western Avenue, where witnesses said they saw a blue Chevrolet travel off the dock into Muskegon Lake and submerge.
A Muskegon County Emergency Services team was able to recover the vehicle and a 17 year old Muskegon Heights man inside. The man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.
We are withholding the name of the deceased at this point pending the proper notification of family. An autopsy is expected this weekend. The investigation is continuing.
