The Wait For City Manager Contract Continues

At the December 21st Muskegon Heights council meeting there was a recommendation from the interim city manager to approve the proposed fiscal year, 2016 budget and milage rate. Also to approve the amendments to the budget. This recommendation was unanimously passed.

There was also a motion by Mayor Sims for the council to acquire King’s school and begin renovations, this motion was also passed.

The council is also still in negotiations for the new city manager’s contract. Richard Marsh Jr., the current city manager of Inkster, Michigan, has been selected to begin as the new city manager as soon as negotiations are finished.

There was a motion to either accept or deny the new contract for city manager and it was shot down by 3 votes including, Mayor Sims and Kellie Kitchen. It is hard to say when an agreement will be reached.
