Mosaica Education Announces Athletic Director for Muskegon Heights Public School Academy System

The Muskegon Heights Public School Academy System has a new Athletic Director. Representatives of Mosaica Education will introduce Glen Metcalf at a parent meeting this evening as the school system’s new Athletic director.

 

Mr. Metcalf is an experienced coach and Athletic Director from Muskegon Heights who recently retired as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Olivet College.

 

“ I’m proud to announce that we have reached an agreement with Glen Metcalf to join our team as Athletic Director,” said Alena Zachery, Vice-President of Mosaica Education for the Muskegon Heights Schools. “Glen was introduced during the parent information session this evening – though no introduction was necessary. Glen was with the school district for 34 years He was the assistant basketball coach for boy’s basketball team who won state championship. He was with the high school football coach of the year and former athletic director. Glen is committed to assist us with bringing Tiger pride back, and to increase academic achievement for all students.”

 

Metcalf is well known throughout the community. He served as the assistant basketball coach for the Muskegon Heights boy’s basketball team who won state championship in 1974, 1978 and 1979. He was the head football coach at Muskegon Heights High School for 24 seasons, and was named Class B High School Coach of the Year in 1990 by the Associated Press. Most recently, Metcalf served as the Assistant Athletic Director and Assistant men’s basketball coach at Olivet College.

 

Metcalf attended Southern Colorado University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Education.
