Connected Crimes Being Investigated In Muskegon

At 0918 hours, August 12, 2014, officers of the Muskegon Police Department were dispatched to the area of the 1900 block of Leahy St on a report of subjects forcibly entering a house.  Officers arrived on scene and located an uninjured, female victim, a 17 year old Muskegon resident.  The subjects who reportedly entered the home were gone when Officers arrived on scene.

At the same time Officers received information of shots fired in the area of the 1800 blk of S. Getty St.  Officers located a female gunshot victim, a 22 year old Muskegon resident, who was struck once in the shoulder.  She was transported to Hackley Hospital where she was treated for the non-life threatening injury.  These two events have been determined to be related.

An on-going investigation is being conducted by Detectives of the Muskegon Police Department and detailed information will be released when it becomes available.
