Community Information and Input Session for Muskegon Heights Community Revitalization Project
Muskegon Heights, MI – Muskegon Heights City leaders, along with the Muskegon County Innovation team and County Commissioner Rillastine Wilkins (District 1), had the opportunity to present the community revitalization challenge to MSU faculty and students on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The tour was a jumpstart to a 14 week project that will conclude with a community presentation in May of 2015.
Community partners, in conjunction with the Michigan State University Urban and Rural Planning Program Practicum have scheduled a public input session for the purpose of providing an opportunity for constituents to receive information and provide input regarding the Muskegon Heights’ Community Revitalization Project.
Tuesday, January 27, 2015, will be the date of the public input session:
• MSU Students will be at Muskegon Heights City Hall from 1:00 – 4:00 pm for walk in input
• Tiger Way – Muskegon Heights Academy High School from 5:00 – 7:00 pm January 27, 2015 before the varsity basketball game against catholic
• 103.7 broadcast at 10:00 am with the students. Listeners can call in and ask questions
Working closely with leadership and management of the City, subject matter experts with the County Innovation Team and Land Bank Authority, the City is focusing on long term, sustainable development plans that will become the foundation for long term success in stopping the cycle of blight.
