2012 Love In Action Award Winners Announced

It takes a village to build a community and in Muskegon there is no shortage of those who come forward to encourage and advocate on behalf of the African-American community. Fifteen such individuals will be honored on Thursday, February 23 at 6pm at the 13th Annual Love in Action Dinner, hosted by Urban League of Greater Muskegon at Muskegon Community College.  The evening will be a celebration of the themes of mentoring, community service, and advocacy. A keynote address will be delivered by Rev. Louis Churchwell, a former Love In Action award winner and the Executive Director/CEO of West Michigan Therapy.

This year’s winners of the 2012 Love in Action awards include Chandar Ricks, Don Studaven, Vernon Nash, Jr., Joseph Warren, Bill Gill, William B. Anthony, Morning Snow Bear, Roosevelt Hines, Doris Rucks, John Selmon, Rev. Jerry Pearson, Debra Oliver, Mildred Stevenson, Marge Burman, and Dollie Hippchen.
